Afterglow

Stars should never be allowed

To come down from the sky

And walk among mortals

Leaving faerie dust behind

Letting you fly

Then fall—

Out of the sky

Back to the mundane

Where nothing seems right

Now that you’ve been to the skies

And breathed in the rarefied

Air of their presence

Leaving you gasping

As you wake up from a dream

That actually happened.
